Mike DePinto-Disaster Recovery Work in the Caribbean

Mike and I have quite the interesting story behind our friendship. I was traveling through Colombia with friends several years ago and ended up in a hostel in Cartagena where I met Mike and several others from California. Immediately connected that coincidence and after a couple shots of aguardiente we were friends. Mike is a civil engineer who has spent the last few years doing disaster recovery work around the Caribbean, first for the Red Cross and now for an organization called All Hands And Hearts. Most of it has focused on rebuilding homes after hurricanes and we talk about what that entails, the hardships he has to see but also the great happiness he gets from being able to help those who most need it. Of course we had to get into some fun travel stories at the end as well!
