The Batesville School District used an alternative calendar for the 2022-23 school year.

Alternative Calendar: based on hours, not days

• The typical calendar consists of 187 days or ~10,066 hours

• Built-In collaboration time = 21 days given to staff

  • Work Days: prep for the start of school, curriculum, etc.

  • Collaboration Days: time for teachers to work together (students are sent home)

• There are no AMI days--time is made up the time at the end of the year

• We plan to survey our parents and stakeholders on our calendar during January
