Ep. 16 Battle of Port Arthur (Lüshunkou)

Art of War by Clay McClure and Sam Grieco

Episode notes

With the vital fortification of Jiuliancheng captured, the Imperial Japanese Army had free reign to invade mainland Manchuria. The remnants of the once powerful Beiyang Fleet and Army of the Qing Dynasty was on the retreat. To ensure the Chinese fleet could never replenish their losses, the Japanese military leaders planned an attack on the vital Chinese Port Arthur. What happened after the battle was a grim prelude to the power and brutality the modernized Japanese military could inflict.
