Bryan Allen is a renowned American hang glider pilot and cyclist who is best known for his remarkable feats in human-powered flight. He was both the pilot and powerplant behind the two aircraft that won the first two Kremer prizes for human-powered flight: the Gossamer Condor in 1977, and Gossamer Albatross in 1979, culminating in the amazing feat of crossing the English Channel by air using only human power. During the flight, Bryan Allen established two World Records, once for Straight Distance at 22.26 miles, and another for Duration at 2 hours, 49 minutes.
