In the final hours before the cross, the disciples argued about who among them was the greatest. Jesus patiently redirected their ambition by revealing that they were asking the wrong question. True greatness in God’s kingdom is not about position or privilege, but about serving others. While earthly rulers use authority to elevate themselves, Jesus—the Lord of all—used His authority to serve, even washing His disciples’ feet and ultimately laying down His life for them.

Jesus led by serving and served by leading. He showed that real authority flows to those who take responsibility, not those who seek power. His life embodied the paradox of strength through humility—confronting evil, defending truth, and building the Father’s kingdom through sacrifice.
