The Production Linked Incentive Schemes have been approved by the Government of India under the aegis of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative to encourage domestic manufacturing, re-jig the global supply chain and make India a manufacturing hub of the world. The PLI Scheme for Automobile and Auto Component Industry has recently been notified by the Ministry of Heavy Industries and the last date for making an application under the Scheme is 9th January 2022.

Based on the Scheme Guidelines and FAQs issued by the Ministry, the Scheme focuses on domestic manufacturing of Advanced Automotive Technology (AAT) products and attracting investment in the automotive manufacturing value chain.
