Narrative Medicine at the Melbourne Medical School

MMS Network di Melbourne Medical School

Note sull'episodio

What role does narrative medicine play in shaping future doctors?

Professor Sarath Ranganathan is joined by Dr Mariam Tokhi and Dr Fiona Reilly to unpack narrative medicine and explore how it’s shaping medical education and practice.

Mariam and Fiona co-lead Australia’s first Narrative Medicine subject, offered through the MD Discovery program at the Melbourne Medical School. Together, they’re inspiring future doctors to engage with the rich themes and complexities of medicine through the lens of creative writing and storytelling. Mariam also reads a moving poem written by then second-year medical student, which beautifully captures the heart of narrative medicine.
