Bad DJ joins me for a conversation inspired by a life’s journey toward restorative relationships. She weaves together her life experiences and bell hooks’s book “Communion: The Female Search for Love.” Bad DJ says this book is good learning no matter what one’s gender identity. We discuss restorative versus punitive relations, the “multiplicity of self,” how abuse in the home manifests in our larger societal structure, managing individual trauma so as not to perpetuate it, a commitment to love and kindness, and of course a bit of metaphysical chit-chat about the nature of the Mind and science’s pursuit of God.
