Carlye chats with Canadian filmmaker Ally Pankiw, an accomplished writer and director and an advocate for women and nonbinary filmmakers. A firm believer in apprenticeship, Ally shares how she aims to create more opportunities for aspiring directors.

Ally Pakiw made her TV debut with Netflix’s Feel Good, created by comic Mae Martin. She directed and executive produced the show’s first season, which was critically acclaimed as one of the best series of 2020 and boasts a "100% Fresh” score on Rotten Tomatoes. Since then, Ally has written on 2 seasons of Dan Levy’s Schitt’s Creek, directed on Hulu’s Shrill, The Great, & helmed the much lauded “Joan Is Awful” and “Common People” episodes of Netflix’s Black Mirror.
