In a future where nobody dies from illnesses, there’s a reality show named “Death Watch” which convinces a doctor to lie to perfectly healthy author, Katherine Mortenhoe (Romy Schneider), that she is dying of a terminal illness so they can film her as she thinks she’s living her last days. Producer Vincent Ferriman (Harry Dean Stanton) hires Roddy (Harvey Keitel), a man with cameras implanted in his eyes to befriend her and follow her around as she goes through this psychodrama. Eventually, Roddy falls in love with Katherine and the whole reality show plan goes awry.
