Dr. Olson began his nursing career in Iowa. He later moved to North Carolina and obtained his PhD from UNC-Chapel Hill. He was an assistant professor at Duke until 2012 when moved to Texas where he later became the first nurse at UT Southwestern to be promoted to full Professor. His research focuses on developing an understanding of how nursing care contributes to patient outcomes following acquired brain injury.
