"I was hired for my Soft skills" says Geoffrey Roniger speaking about working as an adventure guide for Outward Bound. His boss coined the phrase “soft skills” meaning Geoffrey’s compassionate ability to interact with human beings. So humbly Geoffrey brushes this aside during our conversation, but I see it as the key, the core of the magic of Geoffrey. This man breathes compassion, he sees and hears people. Geoffrey makes it a point to know the first and oftentimes last names of every student who walks through his door at Freret St Yoga. The level of care he has for his students and the humans of the world is inspiring and contagious.

As a student of yoga for 25 years and teacher for 20, Geoffrey is a lifelong student of yoga; his teachers Melanie Fawer,
