One of the most valued aspects of being Catholic is the sacrament of reconciliation: confessing your sins to a priest, receiving absolution (cleansing), and performing the assigned penance. There are five main reasons I no longer believe these three things are necessary to be forgiven and restored to a right relationship with God.
