Nova Scotia was a leader in wooden ship building in the 1800s. It also had a booming shipping industry. With this, came many sailors to populate the coastal communities in the province. Joshua Slocum grew up yearning for adventure and to be a sailor. He would travel all around the world and even raise a family at sea with his wife Virginia. Today's story is about living life to the max the way few have ever done.
