In The Spectrum of Roots - Ras Judah
For this special season we travelled to South Africa after an invite from Dawit Menelik Tafari. In this first episode of season 3 we speak with Ras Judah, owner of The Roots Bar in Muizenberg, Cape Town, where one has access to literature, art, crafts, natural juices, incense, etc in a wonderful family atmosphere. Ras Judah discusses growing up in Cape Town against the backdrop of the the people's revolution which saw the demise of the apartheid system. He confirms, as we had suspected, the profound influence reggae music had in giving impetus and inspiration to the people of South Africa during those tumultuous and turbulent times. Having been raised with a revolutionary mindset he also describes his own journey towards Rastafari livity. We really enjoyed out talk with this warm, generous, knowledgeable brother. If you happen to be in Cape Town make sure visiting him is on the list of things to do while in Muizenberg.
