We spend so much time and energy focused on what we're doing in life. We think that all of our doingness is going to get us the results we want, so that we can feel the experiences that we want. For example, we work all day to accomplish a list of tasks, so that we can reward ourselves with the feeling of relaxation and ease at the end of the day.

But experiences like joy and peace are not a byproduct of achieving or doing things - they are an inner state of being. Instead of chasing these feelings in your external world, freedom lies in learning to cultivate a relationship with them inside yourself, so that you can bring this energy into your actions.

Being values are any states of experience of states of being that you value. Some examples of 'being values' are: curious, calm, relaxed, joyful, expansive, graceful, etc.
