Episode 2 w/Dr. John Zilvinskis
Welcome Back, Fishes! Please enjoy the first official episode of Ambitious Fishes in which we discuss learning disabilities and neurodivergency's affect on one's life path and experience within schools, diagnosis processes, disability in the workplace, and so much more. I was joined by my mentor, Dr.John Zilvinskis- An associate professor in the Student Affairs Administration program in the College for Community and Public Affairs. Up until minute 20, we learn about John, his identity, and his journey with Disability and on the road to Higher Ed. From minutes 20 until minute 40, I talk about my journey deciding to pursue a college career and falling in love with univeristy after being so de-motivated to come to Binghamton or any school at all! From minute 40 to one hour, we talk about diagnosis processes, the struggle to self-identity or come to terms with a disabled label, and spoon theory. Until the end, we talk about intersectionality and tie all these ideas back together in the context of higher education. What do you want to see next? Peace & Love
