Women in Malta are really making it in the sports scene. The Malta Women’s football team have secured promotion in the UEFA Nations League to League B, a massive milestone on their road to the 2027 World Cup qualifiers and an astounding 16 Maltese women are playing with top European Clubs. Malta is breaking through the international tennis circuit and women from the Malta athletic squad brought home a record number of medals from this year’s Small Nations Games.

But let’s be honest, women have it hard in sports and even harder in sports in Malta - where athletes compete along side professionals who benefit from sponsorship, dedicated coaching and full time training.
