🌱 Welcome to Underneath the Surface 🌱 This episode kicks off our brand-new 5-part series: “Don’t Be Like the Pharisees” — a deep dive into the seven woes Jesus spoke in Matthew 23. In Part 1, we unpack the first woe and explore how the Pharisees shut the door of the Kingdom in people’s faces — and how many still do the same today. Jesus didn’t just call out religious leaders for tradition or hypocrisy — He exposed the heart posture behind it. We reflect on how we as modern believers can unintentionally act like Pharisees when we care more about appearances, control, or exclusivity than truly pointing people to Jesus and His grace. 📖 Key Scripture: Matthew 23:13 "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people’s faces..." 🧠 Tune in as we go beneath the surface of this warning — so we can avoid falling into spiritual pride, self-righteousness, or misrepresenting the heart of God. 🎧 Be sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so you don’t miss the rest of the series! 👇 Drop your thoughts, questions, or prayer requests in the comments. #Matthew23 #SevenWoes #DontBeLikeThePharisees #ChristianPodcast #BiblicalTruth #JesusWords #SpiritualGrowth #HolySpirit #UnderneathTheSurface 📲 Follow us on Instagram: @underneaththesurface.uts
🌱 Welcome to Underneath the Surface 🌱 In this episode, we’re diving into a foundational truth of the Christian faith: You can’t earn your way into heaven. No amount of good works, striving, or self-righteousness can compare to the free gift of salvation that comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We break down Ephesians 2:8-10, reminding ourselves and our listeners that we are God’s workmanship, created for good works — but not saved by them. This is a message for every believer who’s ever felt like they had to “be better” to be accepted by God. We discuss how religion, performance, and people-pleasing distort the gospel — and how freedom comes when we rest in the finished work of Jesus. 🕊️ Whether you’ve been walking with God for years or are just discovering His love, this episode will encourage you to stop striving and start receiving. 💬 Let’s grow together — planted in truth, rooted in love, and reaching toward all God has for us. 🎧 Subscribe + turn on notifications to never miss an episode. 👇 Drop a comment below & share your thoughts or prayer requests! #GraceOverWorks #SalvationByFaith #Ephesians2 #ChristianPodcast #JesusSaves #FaithNotWorks #UnderneathTheSurface 📲 Follow us on Instagram: @underneaththesurface.uts
