A Blossoming Purpose with Dan Cooper
Episode notes
Today on The True Purpose Podcast, host Will Stewart is joined by Dan Cooper.
Dan Cooper is a plantsman, presenter and publisher of the acclaimed blog, The Frustrated Gardener. In 2012, he began documenting his adventures of planting two tiny coastal gardens in the bustling seaside town of Broadstairs, Kent. Dan was widely celebrated in the press for creating a “subtropical paradise dominated by dramatic colours and shapes”, The Frustrated Gardener climbed to become one of the most popular gardening blogs in the UK.
After a decade of sharing his love of gardening, he took the natural next step and launched Dan Cooper Garden – the first retailer of its kind. He now uses his personal experience to select the finest garden products and pair them with expert advice, all in one place.
In this episode, Will and Dan share their experiences of meeting and working together at John Lewis, how Dan’s passion for gardening has shone through since he was very young, and how he’s now turned his passion into his full-time job.
On the podcast, we hear more from Dan about…
His memories of gardening from when he was young.
What he learnt during his time working at John Lewis.
Why he created The Frustrated Gardener.
What he provides through his blogs.
… And why global warming has deepened his purpose in gardening.
