A Conversation about Craniosacral Fascial Therapy with Tara Allen, RN, NTP

In this episode, Courtney opens up the conversation with the lovely Tara Allen, a Registered Nurse, Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, wife and mom. Tara came across the Craniosacral Fascial Therapy technique "through God and intuition". As a first time mom, Tara witnessed "symptoms" in her child such as colic, indigestion, trouble with sleeping, irritability, a sensitive nervous system and what appeared to be intensified emotional experiences with everyday tasks such as going in the carseat or visiting their naturopathic doctor. Tara knew deep down there had to be a solution to bring her child a sense of ease and continued to follow the "whisper within" until she found a CFT practitioner a close drive from her very doorstep. What it Means to be a Highly Sensitive Person (Solo Episode)

In this episode, Courtney shares through her experience what it means/feels like to be a Highly Sensitive Person & Empath. These are two terms that are thrown around a lot nowadays, so she wanted to break down what living as a very emotive person has felt like for her from childhood through young adulthood. She talks briefly about astrology, grievance and also eating disorders. Trigger warning: If you struggle with eating disorders OR have had a close family member pass away from Cancer, there may be parts of this episode that are uncomfortable to hear. Please listen mindfully and in accordance with your current mental/emotional state.

A 5-minute Mindful & Intuitive Eating Meditation

Here is a 5 minute mindful eating meditation that you can listen to right before you eat a mile. So often, in Western society especially, we are eating on the go, scarfing down our food, eating in front of a screen. etc. Slowing down to truly enjoy our food & all of its nutritional benefits is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves. Next time you eat, I encourage you to try one of the three: 1) Take 3 deep belly breaths before inhaling your food 2) Try to chew a bite 10 times before swallowing 3) Remove a tablet, device or screen from your meal experience. For more mindful & intuitive eating tips, I invite you to reach out to my sister who is an Integrative Nutrition Holistic Health Coach. You can find her website here or on Instagram @wildlyhealthybytiffany.
