Welcome to Cager’s Coffee Break!

Have you noticed that household appliances apparently communicate with each other? The refrigerator is fine. The washer is fine. The air conditioner is fine. Then one appliance breaks and apparently sends out a group message: “Okay everybody—NOW!” Suddenly the dishwasher leaks, the dryer starts squeaking, and the refrigerator begins making a noise that sounds like a tractor climbing a mountain. Welcome to adulthood! Today we're featuring Blame it on the Volcano, our Guatemalan coffee with delicious chocolate, caramel, and toffee notes. And yes, the volcano connection actually gives us a chance to talk about something fascinating: coffee-growing soil. Guatemala has coffee-growing regions associated with volcanic landscapes. Volcanic soils can contain minerals and, along with elevation, rainfall, temperature, farming practices, and many other environmental factors, contribute to the conditions in which coffee plants grow. But here's the important part: great coffee doesn't come from one magical ingredient. It's the combination of environment, plant variety, farming, harvesting, processing, roasting, and brewing that eventually creates what you taste in the cup. That's an impressive journey for something we casually pour into a mug while still wearing our slippers. And perhaps there’s a life lesson hiding in there. Sometimes the roughest terrain can still produce something good. We've all had seasons when it felt as though everything was erupting at once. But difficult seasons don't have to define the rest of the story. Sometimes they make us appreciate peaceful mornings a little more. So today, pour yourself a cup of Blame it on the Volcano, sit somewhere comfortably, and enjoy those chocolate, caramel, and toffee notes. And if your dishwasher, refrigerator, and washing machine all break this week...I had absolutely nothing to do with it. Find Blame it on the Volcano at www.cagerscoffeehut.com.

Until our next coffee break...remember to keep brewing kindness one cup at a time"
