In this episode I speak to Aisha about Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). It is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, male sex hormones that are usually present in women in small amounts. The name polycystic ovary syndrome describes the numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. She walks us through her journey of motherhood while having PCOS. The journey to motherhood is not always straight forward. Most women face challenges with fertility and they don't talk about it because they think they will be viewed as a failure or they will be judged by society. This is why I brought Aisha to speak on this topic to let you know that its okay to have fertility challenges and speak about it.
