On 1 March 2026, the leader of the Islamic Government of Iran was killed. After 47 years, the Iranian people are finally free. But as an Iranian-Australian, my joy comes with a serious warning for my fellow Australians. We cannot call an ideology terrorism overseas and acceptable here at home. It's time to ask the questions our government won't. It's time to read the book they don't want you to read. And it's time to stop letting the word "Islamophobia" shut down the most important conversation Australia needs to have.
