Pepi Schikowski (b. 1996) is an Australian/German painter and multimedia artist. In his practice, he questions preconceived narratives by diving into their ecology and inter-subjectivities. Inspired by archaeology, literature, mythologies, and personal anecdotes, his striking yet playful subjects move into the realm of the immaterial, inhabiting the spaces we cannot see. Navigating between precision and spontaneity, control and experimentation, the interplay of techniques reflects the multifaceted nature of his practice, demonstrating a tension between innocence and intensity.
He studied at HKU Utrecht and HGB Leipzig and now lives and works in Berlin.
