Storms—whether natural or personal—can be loud, unsettling, and even destructive. But they are not without purpose. In both nature and our spiritual lives, storms often precede growth. They soften hard ground, spread seeds, and prepare the way for new life to emerge.
How we view storms is often shaped by our past experiences, but Scripture shows us they can also awaken us to purpose. In Nehemiah 1, the destruction of Jerusalem deeply burdened Nehemiah. That burden moved him to prayer, repentance, and ultimately, action. He didn’t just survive the storm—he let it stir him to rebuild what was broken.
