In this week's episode of "Sober Stories from Everyday People," I sit down with Emily, a 32-year-old Personal Assistant currently residing in Bristol.

Emily's journey from Essex to Bristol has been more than just a geographical change; it's been a transformation in her relationship with alcohol.

Emily's story is one that many can relate to. She began drinking in her university days as a way to combat shyness and fit into a heavy drinking culture. Alcohol seemed to provide her with the confidence she needed in social situations, but it came at a cost – crippling hangovers and a growing sense that it was stealing some of the joy in her life.

After experiencing the drinking culture in London, Emily decided to take several stints of sobriety, including one during the first COVID lockdown. However, it was her move to Bristol in 2021 ...
