Why would a loving God allow His people to suffer—even when they are doing good? Peter reminds us that suffering is not wasted in God’s design. In fact, some trials are tailor-made by Him to draw us closer to Christ, deepen our character, and display to the world how valuable Jesus truly is.
Rather than shrinking back in fear or frustration, believers are called to respond to suffering with gentleness, respect, and hope. When we endure hardship for Christ’s sake, we are not ashamed—we glorify God in the very name we bear.
Suffering may not feel like a blessing, but it is through trials that we grow in perseverance, lean more fully on the Lord, and proclaim His worth to a watching world.
