It is not as well-known as other conspiracy theories, but it has inspired the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. The story claims that elements within the U.S. military conducted illicit research into the paranormal at two military installations located on the far reaches of Long Island. Despite its intriguing content, the Montauk Project has not received much attention. However, given the success of Stranger Things, it may soon become more widely known.
