Today, we begin 1 Peter. The theme of this book is to encourage Peter's readers to endure suffering and persecution by giving themselves entirely to God. The model was Jesus Himself who suffered, was persecuted, then entered glory. As followers of Christ, we too will suffer before being exalted.
