Sonic the Hedgehog (2020): Breast-Feeding AGAIN? Why, Sonic? WHY?

Rory and Jamie take on the first live-action Sonic movie, only to find the most unusual connection to the 1996 OVA movie. Will Jim Carrey, famously a skinny man, be able to recreate the character of Dr Robotnik? Find out in this episode of VGMP. Resident Evil: Wesker's Report (2001): Sickness Makes The Short Go Wesker

We're continuing to release our classic episodes and this one was certainly an odd one. Poor Rory fell ill one week and couldn't record and so Jamie decided to grab a mic and record thoughts on this strange piece of Resident Evil content that Capcom released alongside limited editions of Resident Evil CODE: Veronica X. Shining some light on the actions of the series signature villain Albert Wesker, Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Free Guy (2021): Ryan Reynolds Is Definitely Not Deadpool

This week we're talking about the Ryan Reynolds vehicle Free Guy! Originally made by Fox but eventually obtained by Disney when they brought out 20th Century Fox, Free Guy has an intriguing premise; what if an NPC character in a videogame gained sentience? Does the film explore this concept to its full potential? Will Ryan Reynolds finally step out of his snark-filled Deadpool-esque comfort zone? There's only one way to find out... Shenmue: The Animation (2022): Not Me Suzuki, Yu Suzuki

This one is a blast from the past. The episode that famously nearly made Jamie walk out on the show! Based on the underrated Sega Dreamcast game, this is the animated adaptation of Shenmue! Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Sonic Mania Adventures (2018): Sonic Shorts With Extra Gusset

A throwback to the classic early 90s animation style of the Sonic cartoon, Sonic Mania Adventures was a piece of tie-in media released alongside the popular retro-style game Sonic Mania. Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

Uncharted (2022): Flying Galleons of Bullshit With A Likeable Cast

The iconic PlayStation treasure-hunting franchise comes to cinema screens in "Unchartered." Starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg, the film was controversial on release as fans felt the two male leads had been terribly miscast. With little experience of the game franchise however, what will Jamie and Rory think? This episode also includes the now infamous cats vs dogs argument between our two hosts! DOA: Dead or Alive (2006): We Came For The Story, Honest We Did

How exactly do you turn a fighting game franchise most known for it's implementation of....and we're not kidding here..."jiggle physics" (TM) into a blockbuster action movie? Well, somebody tried it, and since they did, Jamie & Rory had to watch it. Visit our website at www.vgmovie.co.uk Visit our Wiki of Videogame Adaptations at www.vgmp.fandom.com

The Super Mario Bros. Super Show (1989): Wrestling Champion's Career Collapses with Cyndi Lauper

The late 1980s saw videogame media making its first steps into the realm of film and television and usually the results were, at best, ill conceived. Like this show featuring former wrestler Lou Albano as Mario in live action segments interspersed between an animated cartoon. Various celebrities of the time guest star but the show is perhaps best remembered for its pseudo-rap opening theme set to the original theme of the game! Pokemon: Detective Pikachu (2019): Jamie Discovers that Rory IS Mr Mime!

Jamie & Rory return to the Pokémon franchise as they review this Hollywood offering. Starring Deadpool (I mean, Ryan Reynolds) as Pikachu, Detective Pikachu was positively received on release but doesn't seem to have made an impact long term. Does it hold up a few years later? Hackers (1995): Spandex Is A Privilege, Not A Right

This one is a blast from the past! From the early days of VGMP when we were still recording sharing one very cheap microphone in Jamie's noisy front room. Chill out with this freshly polished re-release as Jamie and Rory discuss 90s technothriller Hackers. A dive into hacking subculture that appears to have been made by somebody as far removed from said subculture as possible. Rory has a soft spot for this one but will Jamie see its charms?
