Good morning. Utah. I'm Michael Nally.
Step outside right now and you're already feeling spring knocking on the door. We're sitting at 35 degrees under clear skies. And sunshine is about to own this day.
Along the Wasatch Front, you're climbing to 58 degrees this afternoon. Light southeast winds around 6 miles an hour — barely enough to move a flag. Down in St. George? You hit 73 degrees. Absolutely gorgeous. The mountains top out near 50, with that same gentle breeze from the south.
Tonight stays mild. The Wasatch Front drops to 41 under mostly clear skies. Southern Utah settles around 42, then actually rises to 44 overnight. The mountains cool to 32 before climbing back to 34 by morning. It's the kind of night where you might crack a window.
Monday brings even more warmth. The Wasatch Front reaches 66 degrees — the warmest day since December 22nd. Southern Utah climbs to 78. The mountains hit 56 before cooling slightly in the afternoon. All under sunny skies.
Tuesday brings a dry cold front that knocks temperatures back to near normal — mid-50s along the Wasatch Front, mid-70s in the south. Partly sunny, with a slight chance of rain and snow in the mountains. Wednesday rebounds nicely with sunshine returning. Then the heat builds. Thursday and Friday bring temperatures 0 degrees to 23 degrees above normal. We're talking upper 60s along the Wasatch Front, low 80s in southern Utah. Some spots could hit the mid-80s by Friday.
One more thing — clocks spring forward tonight. You lose an hour of sleep, but we're gaining daylight. The spring equinox is just 12 days away.
See you this afternoon.
