Chapter 51: It’s Your Boy Nicky

Rejoin the Ravkan political landscape with Em and Jordy this week as we tackle chapters 6-10 of Leigh Bardugo’s Rule of Wolves!  In this episode, we squee over Nikolai and Zoya, put the Nina and Hanne conversation to rest (just like Matthais), and offer our apologies.  If you don’t already, follow us on Instagram @twomournerspod and our TikTok @twomournerspodcast! If you have any questions, you can DM us or send us an email to twomournerspod@gmail.com

Chapter 50: In Our Apparat Era

Welcome back to Two Mourners, One Book Club! We return from our life-changes-induced hiatus to begin the final installment of the Grishaverse, Rule of Wolves by the talented and terrific Leigh Bardugo! Please forgive echoey audio - Jordy started using a new editing software and is still learning how to use it! We start strong with political tensions, espionage, and of course, a lot of quippy dialogue. Returning listeners will be able to pick out several new twists on beloved bits (i.e. a certain lipstick in a certain Valentino white bag). Nikolai rules, Zoya slays, Nina is bearable, and Ravka is in deep trouble! We love to hear from you! Have a question or want to geek out together? Follow us on Instagram @twomournerspod and TikTok @twomournerspodcast! If you have any questions, you can DM us or send us an email to twomournerspod@gmail.com Happy Heisting!

Chapter 49: Drunk & Disorderly Debrief - King of Scars

It’s time for our favorite kind of episode - a Drunk & Disorderly Debrief! There are some real gems in this episode. From impassioned speeches about gender to analyzing the mechanisms of grief. Oh, there are also a lot of jokes and Hamilton references as always! If you would like to drink along with us - responsibly of course - you will need the following: Crown Royal Whiskey (yes it does have to be Crown Royal - this is Nikolai’s duology, remember?) Mixer of your choice - we chose Sprite and Peach Sparking Water! If you don’t already, follow us on Instagram @twomournerspod and our TikTok @twomournerspodcast! If you have any questions, you can DM us or send us an email to twomournerspod@gmail.com

Chapter 40: Drunk & Disorderly Debrief - Ruin and Rising

This week, we finish Alina’s story with our drunken review of Leigh Bardugo’s Ruin and Rising! To drink along at home, we recommend the Ravkan Firebird: 2 shots of cinnamon whiskey 1 part apple juice 1 part cranberry juice Top with Gingerale As always, we recommend you enjoy responsibly while we very irresponsibly sit down to record this episode under the influence. Join us as we ask 10 questions in review of Ruin and Rising and share our deepest drunkest thoughts. Have a different answer or opinion? We want to know! Send us a DM on TikTok or Instagram or shoot an email with your thoughts here: Instagram @twomournerspod , TikTok @twomournerspodcast, and email at twomournerspod@gmail.com Next week we jump into Nikolai’s duology with King of Scars! Chapter 39: Mal-Be-Gone (Just Kidding)

Join us this week to finish the last installment of the Shadow and Bone trilogy, Ruin and Rising, by the effervescent Leigh Bardugo! We almost titled this episode “See Ya Uncle Alex” but Mal won out in the end. Tearfully, we close the book on Alina’s story today. You can decide for yourselves if the tears are from laughter or pain - the answer might be both. Alina commits double homicide, Mal makes some tea, and Nikolia gets his groove back. We already know we’re going to have some big thoughts on the ending of this series in our next Drunk and Disorderly Debrief. What we want to know is what YOU thought of the ending!
