Screening Roomers, it's time to celebrate a monumental milestone in film, entertainment and pop culture history - the 100th birthday of writer/director/producer/playwright & songwriter - Mel Brooks! A living legend and EGOT winner, who shaped the face of comedy with groundbreaking films like BLAZING SADDLES, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN & THE PRODUCERS. So, to honor this momentous occasion, FM is joined in the Screening Room by actor/impressionist Piotr Michael (Young Jedi Adventures) to re-live all the films, the characters, the lines and the laughs from the birthday boy and undisputed King of Comedy! And as we all know... It's good to be the king! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MEL! HERE'S TO 2000 MORE!

Logan-5 didn't think he would make it past 30... well, now he's turning 50... or, at least the film he stars in is... so, join FM and actor Yuri Lowenthal (Spider-Man / Naruto), Screening Roomers, as they run to Sanctuary (or rather to the Screening Room) for a very special 50th Anniversary celebration of a 1970s sci-fi cult classic - 1976's LOGAN'S RUN, which had its debut 50-years ago on June 23rd, 1976. As this week actor Yuri Lowenthal (Naruto / Spider-man) flies into the the Screening Room on the back of a pterodactyl with the horniest of Cable Box Classic films this side of Neverwhere, the animated cult classic sci-fi fantasy musical - 1981's HEAVY METAL! A gonzo film that features contributions from some of the most innovative and influential artists and musicians of its era - Devo, Moebius, Black Sabbath, Cheap Trick and more. But this is far from Pixar, Screening Roomers! Heavy Metal - making the squares clutch pearls for 45-years and counting! [cue guitar sting and pterodactyl screech]

Screening Roomers, our resident Midnight Movie Mavens, the writing team of Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt (Stranger Things: Tales from '85 & Ninjago), return to bring us another [flippin'] Midnight Movie in the morning! And this one is nearly indescribable [Melon Farmers]! A nihilistic punk rock sci-fi Neo-western cult classic comedy! And the film that made Harry Dean Stanton yell at its director - "Harry Dean Stanton only uses real baseball bats!" (tune in to find out what that is all about) So, grab your cans of "FOOD" and "DRINK" and join us as we celebrate one of our favorite Midnight Movies - 1984's REPO MAN!

So, refill your mint juleps and grab your big hats because our TMSR Derby Day is just getting started... as we are joined by our very special guest, the track announcer for Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky - Travis Stone - plus, writer/producer Jonathan Rosenthal... for a loop around the track on our favorite Horse Racing films! 1937's A DAY AT THE RACES, 1944's National Velvet, 1978's Casey's Shadow, 2001's Seabiscuit and more... [insert starting bugle here]

Screening Roomers, what do you get when you mix 1950's Hitchcock... with 1980s DePalma... then throw in a copy of Fangoria and Starlog Magazines... you get one of the most interesting thrillers to come out of the mid-1980s - as well as a certified Cable Box Classic - 1986's F/X! A film that had massive success on big and small screens in its era, but then all but disappeared from our cinema conversations. So, this month Yuri Lowenthal (Naruto/Spider-Man) returns to the Screening Room to uncover this lost and forgotten little gem... while celebrating its 40th anniversary!!!
