If you're asking yourself how it can possibly already be 5 years since that episode aired, trust us, we're wondering the exact same thing! We talk about the Jacting Joices in this episode, the parallels between the different couples, and the way Dean and Cas love one another. If you have totally normal feelings about this episode, or about Supernatural or Destiel in general, please come yell with us! A (Queer) History of Vampires!

Hi friends! This week we had a special conversation about the history of vampires! We talked about the roots of the myths and what has led to their existence in folklore, along with what brought the legends to the United States and made them take root in our culture here. We also discussed the medical reasons for the beliefs in vampires and the scientific reasons behind these beliefs. Finally, we dug into the crossover from myth to media and the way vampires have come to exist in modern storytelling! We chatted about early vampire stories like Carmilla and Manor, and their queer roots, along with other stories with social or political themes. We talked about the creators of these stories and some of the queer roots vampires have, and how the perceptions of vampires have changed and adapted in media over time. Also, Nell gave a very detailed rundown of the plot of Sinners, so please be aware that if you do not want spoilers, you are encouraged to skip over that section, which is about 4 minutes long. If you have totally normal feelings about vampires (or any other mythical creatures in media), please come yell with us! Agatha All Along!

Hi friends! This week we had a totally normal conversation about the MCU original series Agatha All Along! We talked about our relationships with the MCU and our feelings about minority representation in this universe (aka, we need so much more of it!) as well as what this show did for representation in that universe. We also talked about the choice made in this show to draw a connection between queerness and magic users, and how the show did a reverse uno with leaving things "open to interpretation" by making the queerness an explicit element of the story while leaving countless questions about pretty much everything else. We discussed the costuming and the music in the show, and the choices in setting things in different time periods. We also had some deep conversations about the cycle of life and death, and the parallels between Billy and Nicholas's origins. If you have totally normal feelings about this show, please come yell with us! You can reach us on Bluesky, Tumblr, or email us at totallynormalaboutthat@gmail.com.
