The Sacramento Brief May 27, 2026 - South Sacramento Fatal Crash Closes Stockton Blvd | CHP Rollover Cleared Overnight

[NEWS] A fatal pedestrian-versus-vehicle collision shut down Stockton Boulevard between Lawrence Drive and Fruitridge Road early Wednesday morning as investigators continued processing the scene. In a separate overnight incident, CHP responded to a solo-vehicle rollover near the southbound Highway 99 offramp to Fruitridge Road just before 1 a.m. Authorities say the vehicle rolled off the roadway before the incident was cleared overnight. Sacramento Police also arrested a suspect earlier this week following a stolen-vehicle pursuit near Del Paso Boulevard and Northgate Boulevard. Officers recovered an illegally possessed firearm after the suspect fled on foot and was later detained. [NEWS] 15-Month-Old Critically Injured In Sacramento County Apartment Parking Lot Crash A 15-month-old girl suffered major injuries after being struck by a vehicle Monday morning in the La Riviera area of Sacramento County. CHP says the child was with her father in an apartment complex parking lot on Tuolumne Drive when a Ford C-Max entered the lot and hit the toddler. Deputies began CPR before the child was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with a skull fracture and other major injuries. Motorcyclist Killed In South Sacramento Hit-And-Run CHP is searching for the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash Monday evening near Florin Road and Power Inn Road. Investigators say a bright blue Nissan Maxima made an illegal U-turn directly in front of a motorcycle before fleeing the scene. The rider later died at the hospital.
