Welcome back to our Holy Week series on The Reformed Classroom Podcast! Each day this week we are walking through the events that took place during the final days of Jesus’ life leading up to His death, burial, and resurrection.
In today’s episode, we look at the events of Holy Tuesday, when a shocking plan begins to unfold. One of Jesus’ own disciples—Judas Iscariot—agrees to betray Him.
Through several passages in the Gospels, we learn what betrayal means and why Judas’ actions were so painful. Judas had walked closely with Jesus, witnessed His miracles, and heard His teaching. Yet his heart had grown hardened by sin.
This episode helps children understand the seriousness of sin, the danger of allowing sin to harden our hearts, and the incredible truth that God was still completely in control of His plan to save His people through Jesus.
Even Judas’ betrayal was part of the plan that would lead Jesus to the cross—the place where He would give His life so that sinners could be forgiven and restored to God.
