Welcome back to our Holy Week series on The Reformed Classroom Podcast! Each day this week we are walking through the events leading up to the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
In today’s episode, we look at what happened on Holy Monday. After entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, Jesus went to the temple, the place where people were supposed to gather to worship God. But when Jesus arrived, He found that the temple had been turned into a noisy marketplace.
Jesus cleansed the temple, reminding the people that God’s house was meant to be a house of prayer.
Later, Jesus cursed a fig tree that had leaves but no fruit, teaching an important lesson about what true faith looks like. Just like the fig tree looked healthy on the outside but produced no fruit, the religious leaders appeared fai ...
