I thought I was hiding my alcohol from my wife. I was too drunk to notice her watching me hide it.
She told me afterwards. She knew.
In this episode of The Come Back Code, I share a part of my drinking that is uncomfortable to admit: the hiding, the secrecy, and believing I was getting away with something that was happening right in front of her.
There’s an absurdity to that memory now. But there’s also a difficult question: what did my wife see that I wasn’t willing to see in myself?
