Before Strawberry Shortcake became a doll or a beloved children's cartoon, she was a greeting card developed at American Greetings in the 1970s. In this episode of The CLE Connection, hear from illustrator Muriel Fahrion, who played a major role in developing Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin, Huckleberry Pie and other figures in the Northeast Ohio company's "Those Characters From Cleveland" division. She also played a critical role in creating early concept artwork for Care Bears. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony Gets Its Hollywood Star
This summer, the iconic Cleveland hip-hop group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony gets its latest accolade: a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In this episode of The CLE Connection, hear from band member Krayzie Bone, aka Anthony Henderson, about Bone Thugs’ recent achievements, the band’s upcoming tour with Wu-Tang Clan and stories about what went into the making of the band’s breakout album E. 1999 Eternal. Krayzie Bone also leads two nonprofits in Cleveland, the Spread the Love Foundation and Harmony District, which are designed to give back to his hometown and provide guidance to aspiring musicians.
