Episode 11 - THE SIXTH SENSE (1999)
Explicit
Season 2 is here! And we are bi-covering a new horror genre: GHOSTS. That includes poltergeists, spirits, haunted houses, Ouija boards, etc. You name it, we're probably doing it! What better way to kick off the season than with a Philly-set classic: THE SIXTH SENSE. The movie with one of the biggest twists of all time made a fortune back in 1999, and it was all filmed in our favorite city! There's Bruce. There's Toni. There's a cute little boy who's really scared all the time for some reason... There's Marissa Cooper from THE O.C. There's a bully from that DCOM GENIUS. There's Donnie Wahlberg in his tighty whities. There's a mention of Chuck E. Cheese. But 27 years later.....does THE SIXTH SENSE still hold up?
Episode 10 - SCREAM (1996)
Explicit
We did it! Our first season finale! The slasher genre is always a hot bi-knife in the gut, and we can't wait to revisit it later. What better movie to end season one of the podcast with none other than SCREAM! Wes Craven's absolutely iconic meta-slasher flick - part horror, part comedy, part...melodrama? - spawned a franchise that people are still positively and also unhealthily obsessed with 30 years later. Get ready for Ghostface. Landline phones. 90s fashion. Drew Barrymore crying a lot. A very dangerous dog door. A dangerous umbrella. Fonzie from HAPPY DAYS. Shaggy from SCOOBY-DOO. Jennifer Love Hewitt's ex-husband.... We're always weird, but we were ESPECIALLY weird and more tired than usual during this episode, so we're....yeah. You'll hear/see. Enjoy!
Episode 9 - CHILD'S PLAY (1988)
Explicit
Season one is nearly over! It's bi-time to talk about one of the most famous red-headed killer doll movie slasher franchises of all time. CHILD'S PLAY spawned a franchise with its iconic short, blue denim killer, Chucky, that former human who transferred his soul into a battery-less doll and just really loves to be nasty and mean and murder people and laugh like a hyena. There's voodoo. There are WILD explosions out of nowhere. There's Susan Sarandon's hot ex-husband. There's the mom from 7th HEAVEN and that one girl from GREASE who slips that Rizzo is pregnant. There's a toy hammer that's really strong... There are some really inappropriate homeless characters. It's a classic, but does it hold up all these years later?
Episode 8 - THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE (1974)
Explicit
It’s finally here! And we have a lot of thoughts….OPPOSING thoughts. We’re reviewing the original TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, a bonkers, super low-budget horror classic that misspelled “chainsaw” in the title, introduced us to one of the most iconic horror villains, and features SO MUCH SCREAMING that you may need earplugs. Directed by Tobe Hooper (POLTERGEIST), this is…a WILD movie. There’s grave robbing and cannibalism. There’s a woman hanging from a meat hook. There’s a guy in a wheelchair rolling down a hill while trying to go potty. There’s a dude with a chainsaw. There’s running. There’s screaming. Screaming. Screaming…… SCREAMING! Get ready.
Episode 7 - BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974)
Explicit
“Dashing through the….BLOOD.” It’s time for some cheesy bi-scary Christmas movie taglines because we’re reviewing the original BLACK CHRISTMAS! Years before making a movie about babies that are geniuses, Bob Clark made this cult classic about sorority sisters being stalked by a maniac hiding in the attic who really needs to put his phone away or just get a TikTok account because he won’t stop calling them. There’s Topanga’s aunt from BOY MEETS WORLD. There’s Lois Lane. There’s a really toxic boyfriend pianist. There’s a house mother who rinses her mouth with brandy. And our favorite horror movie cop John Saxon is back!
Episode 6 - PSYCHO (1960)
Explicit
EE! EE! EEE!! EEEE!!! An unhinged episode about Alfred HitchCOCK's classic, ear-piercing, thrilling masterpiece, BI-PSYCHO. (The original, not the one with Vince Vaughn.... [insert eye raise emoji]) This is the movie that S H O C K E D audiences when it debuted, a truly shocking shocker of epic bi-shock. (#shock) There's stolen money. There's a not-at-all-famous shower scene... There's a close-up of a bi-toilet that was surprisingly a huge deal... There's a creepy but kinda cute guy named Norman who runs a motel in the middle of a desert and his mother is, like, REALLY angry... Listen!
Episode 5 - CANDYMAN (1992)
Explicit
The first BIographical drama about the building of Hersheypark.... No, no. There is no chocolate in CANDYMAN, and actually, there's not a lot of candy. There's a dashing villain played by Tony Todd with a huge hook for a hand and he has a lot of bi bees. There are medicine cabinets that open into other apartments. There's a really awful professor. There's a really nasty toilet. And it's from a story by Clive Barker! (FYI, he's a really famous horror writer.) CANDYMAN spawned a franchise, including a reboot/sequel/remake/whatever in 2021. Join us as we talk about this hit film that made us (or Bu$$y, at least) obsessed with saying the name "HELENNNN" in a Candyman voice.
Episode 4 - TERRIFIER (2016)
Explicit
BI-YUCK! Yes, we're reviewing the bloody bloody bloody BLOOOODDDDDY Terrifier, the film that makes Pennywise look like a little wimp. This UNRATED horror franchise has stunned and exhilarated and grossed out the entirety of America and possibly the world with the grotesque deaths, guts, blood, and.......guts. There's a creepy clown who never speaks named Art. It's Halloween. There's a pizza place. There's a rather alarmingly large saw that...just wait! Strap in and get ready for some over-the-top bi carnage.
Episode 3 - A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)
Explicit
A Bi-Nightmare - a "BIGHTMARE" - on Elm Street, the film that introduced one of the most iconic slasher villains of all time: JOHNNY DEPP. No, no, just kidding. FREDDY KRUEGER. The man. The legend. The guy with the knife fingers. (So sorta like Edward Scissorhands....) Join us as we recap Wes Craven's historic supernatural horror film where this guy with really bad sunburn stalks a group of teens in their dreams. There's a door with mushy steps. There's a woman flying over her bed. There's coffee. There's a Home Alone type of sequence. It's crazy!
Episode 2 - FRIDAY THE 13th (1980)
Explicit
Our bi-slasher season continues with the film that turned that hymn "ch-ch-ch-ch....ah-ah-ah-ah" into a chart-topping hit, even beating T-Swift. FRIDAY THE 13th became an unexpected hit that launched one of the biggest slasher franchises of all time. There are horny, really ridiculous teens. There's a creepy guy on a bike. There's a snake. There's....Kevin Bacon?! And there's a killer... WHO is slaughtering these people and why is the thunderstorm SO INTENSE here?
