The Budget

This week we’re talking about the budget. When it comes to schools, it’s vitally important to know how we pay for our students to be educated.

Knowing how school funding works sheds light on what we’re able to provide for students in the classroom. Teachers, staff, and programs cost money.

What we are able to pay for depends on how much we receive from the State of Wisconsin and city taxpayers. The budget will be in acute focus in the coming months as decisions are made in Madison and in the coming weeks as the School Board delves into our spending.
