MEGA EPISODE! Embarrassing Patriotic Songs Tournament (ft. James and Gab)
Episode notes
Good morning party people! What a wonderful week it's been, unseasonably warm like every other season! Wait
We have guests again! This week we are lucky enough to be joined by James (Brisbane based musician with PistonFist, The Black Swamp, Razor Nun, Swamp Gully Howlers and a writer for Good Call Live) and Gab (cool gal, friend of the show, young person) to go through the history of chivalry and chauvinism through chorus in this country. We had such a good time we ended up talking for more than two hours, so there's plenty of listening for your wonderful ears this week!
Anyway, we're here to talk about Australia's most embarrassing patriotic songs throughout the long and proud history of the nation. We're going to cover some hits; obviously, the National Anthem, C'mon Aussie C'mon and Waltzing Matilda; but you're also going to learn about modern internet parodies, ANZAC-era battle hymns and, of course, Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi.
