Season 2

What does it mean to put yourself first?

In this episode I talk about what it means to put yourself first, and how that can often times be confused with being selfish. This is something that I made a while ago and took me a bit to get around to uploading it. Hope you enjoy!

Welcome Back...

Searching For Silver Linings is finally back! As I navigate through my 20s I wanted to use this podcast as a way to document my experiences, but also talk about them so others feel heard. It's great to know that you're not alone in your struggles, and Searching For Silver Linings can help with that. I hope I can help you in any way through this podcast!
Season 1

Let's Talk About Stuff

Join Kyle Shih as he talks about his thoughts on "The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck" by Mark Manson. Staying to our theme of change and growth this summer, Manson's book is able to teach important lessons towards self-growth which Kyle explains more about.

Rejection, Growth, and Change

We're back! Since our last podcast episode in March, there have been so many things that have caused us to change. Join us as we discuss the daunting college application process, personal growth throughout the rest of the year, and the importance of embracing change.

Comparison: A Toxic Culture

With college applications around the corner, it is important to focus on yourself and find self-worth in your own achievements. Comparing your GPA or test scores with another person creates a toxic environment that only hurts your self-esteem. In this episode we discuss why it's important to avoid comparison to another person and how focusing on ourselves can make us achieve success.

Welcome to Searching For Silver Linings!

Here's a little introduction about the podcast and your host, Kyle Shih. Get to know why he started this journey in helping others, and get ready to help yourself!

Senior Year Reflecting and Goal Setting...

When you set a goal, you intend to go from Point A to Point B. But why is it that Point B can bring so much unhappiness, or even if there is happiness, only a glimpse of it? Getting to Point B seems like an "All or Nothing" to some people. It stops us from seeing all the other points that we achieved along the way. And sometimes we fail to recognize that maybe Point B wasn't really what you wanted after all... Even when we don't get to Point B, we accomplish goals we never expected to accomplish, but needed to experience in order to get somewhere else. And that's a new way that I've been interpreting this Point B problem. You shouldn't feel disappointed or discouraged that Point B was never reached, but instead acknowledge all the other points you went through along the way.

Adults FX and Adulting...

I finally watched Adults this past weekend while at home, and I don't know why I didn't watch it sooner...But I also wondered how I was able to watch two full seasons of a show when I always say there isn't enough time to watch TV. It was this act of feeling like a kid again in my childhood bedroom while watching TV that led me to this spiral and connection between the show and adulting...

What do YOU actually want?

I feel stuck and I can't figure out why. I don't know what I want. Over the past couple months I've been feeling sort of unfulfilled with the creative work that I'm doing in the space of content and I've been having this urge to create more. I want to try creative direction, I want to modeling, I want to try directing a short film. Things like that have been piquing my interest and I feel like that's the creative shift I need to make. But it seems scary to even admit that. After feeling like I finally got this whole "content" thing down, and then wanting to change feels weird. But it is a totally normal feeling. It is okay to not know what you want. It is okay to want to change something. That's what being human is.
