'There are five divine acts: creation, maintenance, dissolution, remembering and forgetting. If you lived in a world where you knew every outcome, it would be very boring. So at some point God presses a button to forget.

'When we forget something as humans, where does it go? Subjectively, into a black void that is at the edge of our selves. It’s that same void that stuff comes out of in a moment of remembering, and also in moments of creative inspiration. When an idea blossoms in my head, it blooms from a field of darkness. I don't see or own what was beyond the idea that gave birth to it. So no matter how much I say it’s my idea, that’s not true.'
