‘I accidentally took a lot of LSD, and on the outside, unknown to me, I was crashing into people in a tantric orgy. But on the inside, I was stuck in the eternal now.

‘I’ve experienced that as I die and the brain shuts down, time expands to infinity, and my thoughts distil into an essential emotion which I am fated to live for eternity. One time I think it was fear, another time happiness. This may be where eternal heaven and hell come from.

‘If someone falls into a black hole, from the outside you see them slow down to a stop at the event horizon. But in their experience, they fall straight through.

‘Time does not flow in a single stream in the universe, in spirituality or science. It can split off in branches for different observers, and merge again.’
