A Signal in the Dark | S2:E3

Command and Consent Episode 3 - With the Resolute powerless and the Korrith closing in, Luke and his crew are forced to confront the consequences of Earth’s surrender. What was supposed to preserve humanity instead leaves its greatest defenders exposed, turning the flagship into a symbol of just how much freedom Earth may be expected to sacrifice in exchange for survival. As the final moments approach, Luke refuses to let fear or betrayal define his crew’s last stand. But somewhere beyond the battlefield, an unexpected signal suggests that the story may not be over—and that forces long believed lost or forgotten may still have a part to play in humanity’s future.

Who Do You Want to Be? | ES2:4

Command and Consent Episode 4 - Daniel’s return changes the balance of power almost overnight. Standing before the leaders of Earth with an army they never knew existed, he offers humanity something neither its enemies nor its own governments have been able to promise: a choice. Earth must decide whether survival means submission—or whether there are still things worth standing for. As old authorities clash with a new interstellar reality, alliances begin forming in ways no one in Washington can control. With the enemy still at Earth’s doorstep and Daniel assuming a role few could have imagined, the coming battle will depend not only on firepower, but on who is willing to stand beside him when the choice finally has to be made.

The Ghost’s Gambit | S2:E5

Command and Consent Episode 5 - Outnumbered four to one, Daniel refuses to fight the battle the enemy expects. As the Valari fleet gives ground and Earth watches from afar, what first appears to be a retreat begins to reveal something far more deliberate—an enormous strategy built around patience, timing, and Daniel’s willingness to gamble on the impossible. As the battlefield shifts toward Jupiter, another powerful player enters the fight and Daniel’s plan begins moving toward its final stages. But victory will require extraordinary trust from Luke, the Resolute, and allies who may not fully understand what Daniel is asking of them until there is no turning back

The Story We Tell | S2:E6

Command and Consent Episode 6 - With the battle over, Earth faces a different kind of crisis: how to explain Daniel’s return, the Valari fleet, and a victory that could dramatically shift the balance of power on Earth. Inside the White House, officials debate whether the public is ready for the whole truth—or whether controlling the story is the only way to keep Daniel from becoming either a political weapon or a target. But Luke draws a line that changes the conversation: nothing will be said in Daniel’s name without Daniel’s consent, and the Taylor family will not be asked to live inside another government-created fiction. As Earth begins deciding how history will remember what just happened, the people closest to Daniel must decide whether protecting someone can ever justify hiding the truth about who they really are.

The Weight of Home | S2:E7

Command and Consent Episode 7 - The Taylor family finally receives the truth they have been waiting two years to hear: Daniel is alive. But the joy of that revelation comes with complications, as the family learns that the young man they lost has returned with responsibilities and power that make simply coming home far more difficult than anyone imagined. Days later, the Taylor farm waits beneath an Alabama sky with the porch light burning and everyone listening for a sign that Daniel is really coming back. When that moment finally arrives, the titles, fleets, and politics fall away, leaving only a family trying to welcome home someone who has traveled farther—and carried more—than any of them can fully understand.

The Part of Him That Came Home | S2:E8

Command and Consent Episode 8 - Back at the farm, Daniel begins facing a different kind of aftermath. Lisa finally confronts him about the two years his family spent believing he was dead, forcing Daniel to explain the choices he made and the cost of keeping everyone he loved in the dark. Beneath the anger and grief, the two begin finding their way back to the friendship that once made the Taylor house feel safe. The next morning brings another kind of reunion when Daniel introduces his family to someone who has become an important part of his life beyond Earth. As two worlds meet around an ordinary kitchen table, the Taylors begin realizing that bringing Daniel home means welcoming the people—and the life—he found among the stars as well.

Gravity Isn’t What Holds Him | S2:E9

Command and Consent Episode 9 - As Daniel continues recovering at the farm, his family begins to understand the life he built beyond Earth—the worlds he has seen, the Valari he now considers family, and the responsibilities that still reach him even while he sits at Caroline’s kitchen table. For Libby especially, the universe becomes less frightening as Daniel begins showing her the wonder hidden inside everything he survived. But in Washington, Daniel’s growing power creates a different kind of unease. Military and political leaders begin asking what it means for Earth to depend on a commander they cannot control, and whether partnership with the Valari can exist without becoming another attempt to place Daniel beneath someone else’s authority. As plans for the future take shape, one truth becomes increasingly difficult to ignore: Daniel may love Earth, but Earth is no longer the only place he calls home

Ask, Don’t Task | s2:E10

Command and Consent Episode 10 - As life at the Taylor farm settles into something almost normal, Daniel and Libby share a deeply personal conversation about truth, identity, and the right to decide who you are before the rest of the world decides for you. For Daniel, keeping the truth about his role in Earth’s defense hidden was never about surrendering credit—it was about choosing, for once, what mattered most to him. Weeks later, President Hart’s carefully managed public story brings cameras to the farm, hoping to introduce Daniel to the world on gentler terms. But when an unexpected threat appears overhead, politics and public relations suddenly collide with necessity. Hart is forced to put into practice the principle she has been struggling to learn: Daniel may be the person Earth needs, but needing his help does not give anyone the right to command it.

When the World Sees Him |S2:E11

Command and Consent Episode 11 - A quiet evening at the Taylor farm is shattered when a new threat appears without warning, leaving Earth with only hours to respond. This time, President Hart doesn’t try to control Daniel—she asks for his help and willingly transfers authority. With cameras still watching, the world begins to see for the first time the person behind the carefully managed story: not Luke Taylor’s little brother, but the commander people have been trying so hard not to acknowledge. As Daniel and his allies race against an impossible clock, saving Earth forces choices that carry consequences far beyond the immediate crisis. And when the danger finally passes, Daniel faces something almost as difficult as battle: explaining in his own words why he allowed the truth about himself to remain hidden—and what those few weeks of ordinary family life were worth to him.

The Chain They Refuse | S2:E12

Command and Consent Episode 12 - With Earth temporarily safe, the argument over the Valari shifts from survival to control. Political leaders who see the fleet as technology rather than people begin pushing for a formal NATO command structure, while others warn that forcing the Valari into a human chain of command would betray the very freedom Daniel has spent years fighting to protect. When Daniel is finally brought face-to-face with the proposal, the carefully constructed language of cooperation quickly gives way to a much more fundamental disagreement. Daniel makes clear that the Valari are a sovereign people, not ships he can simply sign over—and when political pressure turns into an attempt to physically stop one of their vessels, the debate over command and consent suddenly threatens to become something far more dangerous.
