Season 1
The Ghosts of Glen Lyn and Down in the Holler
Memorial to Louis Jones / The Chamber Arc
Regards to the Terrorists of Broadway!
Exploring the cultural and personal histories of Appalachia.
In the wake of George Floyd's murder, violence against Black Americans continues. Source material came from recordings of public hearings about the police killing of Louis Jones, a Black man in Seattle in 1971. This work recognizes the historical context of these atrocities but also the power of the community coming together in response and changing city policies.
As society takes a turn to more violence and intolerance, citizens are accused of terrorism while walking down Broadway.
Emerging out of the fog of the pandemic, a realization that the world had fundamentally changed.
