Canucks Season Opening Presser Breakdown

Dustin Boydell and Russell Holiday get together to break down a jam-packed season-opening press conference for the Vancouver Canucks. The boys start off by sharing their reactions to hearing from Ryan Johnson, Manny Malhotra, and the Sedins, highlighting the united front from the new look front office and the refreshed culture in the building. They dive into Thatcher Demko’s health and training camp status, the media’s negative narrative around ownership and losing, and discuss EP40’s mindset heading into the new season. As well, they chat about the ongoing Britannia Rink practice facility situation and Daniel Sedin’s comments regarding minor hockey in Vancouver.

Then Rusty 'n Dusty get into the newly released 57-man training camp roster ahead of Penticton and look at the organization's improved roster depth. They discuss player development philosophy, debate whether Braden Cootes and Jonathan Lekkerimäki should start the year in Abbotsford, and look at the realistic paths for guys like Adam Novotný, Bennett Schimek, and Ty Mueller. Lastly, the boys look ahead to the upcoming split-squad action, the preseason opener against the Seattle Kraken, and debate what the best and worst case scenarios look like for the team heading into the 2026-27 season.

If you are sick of Luke Gazdic's poor analysis during the intermission, if you are looking for someone to banter with during the game and if you want to meet a bunch of crazy hockey fans then this stream is the one for you. There will be mayhem in chat so make sure you say hello when you stop by.
