On the derelict orbital platform Kestrel’s Fall, a frozen cryogenic container yard drifts in zero gravity after years of damage, dead pods, failing seals, and broken emergency light. A combat engineer and an augmented fireteam enter Cargo Deck 7 to recover the cryogenic data archive from Pod 77-Alpha before the pod’s thermal regulator fails.

The Shearlings are not simply hunting inside the wreck. They mimic shattered pod debris, move by tail-snap physics, disable soldiers with sickle-claws and shearing jaws, then drag them into growth sites hidden deeper in the platform. One tower has learned to wear human armor and active distress alarms, turning every rescue instinct into another way to break formation.
